City of Springfield Proposes New Map Plan

The Queen City of the Ozarks has entered a new phase as the city plans to lay down a whole new set of ground rules for how the physical layout of the city will operate.

In the 1990s, the City of Springfield came up with a plan in called Vision 20/20, which directs zoning, the investment of capital, and the physical layout for the city in general. The plan was last updated in 2004.

City council members believe that it’s time for an update and that the city is poised to go in a new direction. They say they are looking for citizen input on the direction the city planning should go.

The new plan will be developed over the course of two years and will cost around $900,000.
