Two Springfield hospitals announced the first babies born in the new decade.
Mercy announced the birth of Paisley Rose.
Parents Britney Dinger and Joseph Rose welcomed Paisley around 12:17 a.m. weighing five pounds, 13 ounces, and is 18 inches long.
A press release from Mercy says Paisley was given a pile of presents from the mother baby staff at Mercy.
Paisley will receive care in the neonatal intensive care unit after being born with a cleft lip and palate.
Cox posted on their Facebook, an announcement of the first baby born in Cox South this year.
Lucy Belle Law was born shortly before 3 a.m.
Lucy’s parents Vivian and Bill were surprised after being told to go to labor and delivery when originally going to CoxHealth for an appointment.
