Ozark Fire Protection District Selects New Fire Chief

Jarett Metheny has been selected as new Fire Chief of the Ozark Fire Protection District.

The Board of Directors chose Metheny after conducting a nationwide search.

Metheny has a degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University and a 25 year career in Fire Service.

The Board of Director’s for the Ozark Fire Protection District are pleased to announce that Jarett Metheny has been chosen as the Fire Chief of the Ozark Fire Protection District. Chief Metheny was selected following a nationwide search and selection process of many qualified candidates.

Chief Metheny’s career spans over 25 years in the fire service. Prior to be selected by Ozark, he previously served as the Fire Chief for the Battlefield (MO) Fire Protection District and Midwest City (OK) Fire Department. He possesses a B.S. in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology and an M.S. in Fire and Emergency Management Administration, both from Oklahoma State University. He is a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy and is credentialed as a Chief Fire Officer from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

The Ozark Fire Protection District provides comprehensive fire, emergency medical, hazardous materials, and technical rescue services to an area of over 100 square miles in Christian County, including the cities of Ozark and Fremont Hills. The organization responds to over 3,400 calls per year from three fire stations and with 33 career firefighters.

The fire district is excited for the leadership that Chief Metheny brings to the team as we strive to be the premiere fire district in the region, and continue to provide and expand the quality of services for the residents and visitors of the district.
