Joplin City Council plans to take a second look at an ordinance requiring people to wear face masks.
Council will meet July 8 at 6 p.m.
A similar ordinance was originally voted down 5-4 on June 24.
The latest proposal would require people to wear face masks when inside buildings and — in some cases — while outside.
The Joplin Health Department says positive cases of COVID-19 have steadily increased in Joplin and the surrounding area.
Springfield City Council is expected to vote on its own face mask ordinance on Monday.
