Police in Lebanon say a man is charged with murder after a woman was found dead.

The Lebanon Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control are actively investigating the homicide of a 53-year-old Brenda Rogers from Lebanon, Missouri which occurred in the 500 block of Polk Street in Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri.

At this time, 61-year-old Mark Tampow from Lebanon, Missouri has been charged with Murder 1st Degree and felony Armed Criminal Action with a cash or surety bond of $100,000.

Tampow is being housed at the Laclede County Jail pending bail.

At approximately 6:37 PM on August 13, 2021, the Lebanon Police Department responded to the 500 block of Polk Street in Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri for a report of shots fired inside a residence.

The subsequent investigation revealed Rogers was a victim of homicide.

This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

The above charges are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt.

Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence
