Branson Police Release Video Of Suspect In Deadly Shootings

Police in Branson have released some video in a deadly shooting May 29 behind Famous Dave’s restaurant on Highway 76.

38-year-old Krystle Buhl from Forsyth and 39-year-old Richard McMahan from Merriam Woods died.

Police say the video, which was taken at night, shows a suspect walking into the area at the time the shooting happened, then running away from the scene.

During its continuous and ongoing investigation, the Branson Police Department has uncovered video of who they believe is the suspect in the May 29, 2021, double shooting behind the Famous Dave’s restaurant on 76 Country Blvd.

In the video, the suspect is seen walking to the area where the crime happened at the time the crime happened. Less than a minute later, the same suspect is seen running away from the scene. Although the video was recorded at night and the quality isn’t ideal, the Branson Police Department encourages people to watch and share the video in hopes someone might recognize the suspect or it sparks information about that incident to share with the Police Department.

In the late evening hours of May 29, the Branson Police Department responded to the 1800 block of W 76 Country Blvd on a report of two people who had been shot. Officers found the victims, quickly secured the scene, and requested medical aid. The two victims were identified as 38-year old Krystle Buhl of Forsyth and 39-year old Richard McMahan of Merriam Woods.

Investigators have been working non-stop on this case and continue to follow up on evidence and information as it develops. Police do not believe this was a random incident and do not believe there ever was or is an ongoing threat to the public. This is the department’s first homicide since 2016. Recent crime statistics have shown violent crime to be down in the area.
