The superintendent of Springfield schools says the district could drop its mask mandate as soon as January.
She says it could happen even sooner now that vaccine access is available for kids ages 5 to 11.
KY3 reports protesters gathered Wednesday, calling for the district to drop the mandate now.
Some parents have hired attorney Kristi Fulnecky to plead their case.
