Judge Hears Criminal Case Against Three Former ‘Ride the Ducks’ Employees

A judge in Stone County has heard evidence presented by the State of Missouri against three employees working at Ride the Ducks when an amphibious vehicle carrying 31 people sank on Table Rock Lake, killing seventeen.

The tragedy, one of the deadliest boating incidents in United States history, happened on July 19th, of 2018.

The three employees charged are Kenneth Scott McKee, the captain of the boat that sank; Curtis Lanham, and Charles Baltzell, both supervisors on-duty.

Each of them face up to 17 criminal charges.

The arguments by prosecutors center on the awareness the employees ought to have had of the severe weather in the area, and the failure to take precautions.

If the judge finds sufficient evidence, the case against the three employees would proceed.

The attorneys for Mr. McKee have suggested they will enter a not-guilty plea.
