Springfield Airport Wants To Upgrade General Aviation Terminal

(KTTS News) — The Springfield-Branson National Airport hopes to make $5.9 million dollars worth of renovations to the general aviation terminal.

If all goes as planned, the work would be finished by the end of 2023.

Private and charter jets use the general aviation terminal to fly corporate executives and celebrities into Springfield, but it hasn’t been upgraded since 1990.

The main terminal, which handles commercial airline traffic, was updated in 2009.

KY3 says the airport wants to renovate the bathrooms and change lighting in the general aviation terminal, add a multipurpose meeting room, and upgrade the cramped staff and passenger areas.
