(KTTS News) — Three men who broke out of the Barry County Jail last week are believed to be in Kansas.
The Barry County Sheriff says the U.S. Marshals are now working the case.
Lance Justin Stephens, Matthew Allen Crawford, and Christopher Allen Blevins escaped Thursday night by cutting a hole in the ceiling and entering a water heater storage area.
KY3 says they then broke an exit door, and later stole a farm truck.
The truck was recovered in Kansas.
The sheriff says the two staff members who were working when the escape happened didn’t get a chance to check on the men that night because they were busy at the booking desk.
The escape wasn’t noticed until the next morning.
