(KTTS News) — We’re learning more about an officer-involved shooting with Christian County authorities that left two people dead.

The Christian County coroner says 37-year-old Timothy Shafer and 23-year-old Donna Bailey died from gunshot wounds.

Shafer died after being shot in the head, and Bailey died after being shot in the chest.

Police tried to stop a vehicle for drunk driving at Highway 65 and Highway 14 in Ozark on September 24.

Shaefer was driving and later tried to hit a Christian County deputy when the vehicle was finally spotted in Highlandville.

When the vehicle was stopped, Shaefer showed he had a gun out the driver’s side window.

Five officers from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Ozark Police Department and Nixa Police Department fired their weapons.

They’re on paid leave during the investigation.
