(KTTS News) — A man has been found guilty in the murder of his girlfriend in Republic in 2020.
A Greene County judge found 46-year-old Shane Mackey guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Racheal Sanders.
Police found broken glass and blood on the kitchen floor, living room floor, and bedroom.
Mackey told investigators he came home and found her bleeding, but she refused to go to the hospital.
Police say Mackey was trying to revive Sanders when they arrive.
The Greene County Medical Examiner testified that Sanders died from blunt trauma to her head and neck.
The medical examiner and a pathologist who testified for the defense both agreed that there was no way that she got the injuries before Mackey came home.
