(KTTS News) — Crime is down 20 percent overall in Springfield.

Police Chief Paul Williams says property crime dropped 21-percent and crimes against society, which includes drug and weapons charges, dropped 19-percent.

Crimes against persons fell by five-percent.

Williams says hard work by police and a very extensive policing plan helped bring those numbers down.
