(KTTS News) — The city of Joplin has renamed a bridge for a fallen police officer.
On Tuesday, the 20th street bridge was renamed the Officer Jake Reed Memorial Bridge.
The Joplin Police Department presented the Medal of Honor to Reed’s family.
Officer Reed and Corporal Ben Cooper died after a shootout on March 8, 2022.
Officer Rick Hirshey was also shot, but recovered from his injuries.
