(KTTS News) – A Springfield teen has died after a Sunday morning accident on I-44.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened near Marshfield, around 3 a.m. when 18-year-old Madison Bell was involved in a single-vehicle accident.
Bell was the passenger in a vehicle that ran off the road, hit an embankment, and flipped over.
Bell was ejected from the vehicle into the road, where an unknown vehicle hit her and kept driving.
Bell was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that Bell was in, 21-year-old Alexander Witt, was transported to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries.
