(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced he will bring Dawn Chapman—co-founder of the grassroots advocacy group Just Moms in St. Louis and longtime advocate for victims of nuclear contamination in the region—to this Thursday’s State of the Union address.
Senator Hawley’s announcement comes after he secured a standalone vote this week on his legislation to reauthorize the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act and finally compensate victims of radioactive waste in Missouri and across the nation.
Last month, Senator Hawley joined advocates from across America—including Chapman and other Just Moms members—for their visit to Capitol Hill, urging congressional leadership not to overlook Americans poisoned by their own government in favor of funding to foreign nations.
