(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – A police officer from Bolivar and a police department volunteer were injured in a vehicle crash near Kansas City Friday during the funeral procession for an Independence Police Officer.
The Bolivar police officer and the volunteer were in Kansas City to attend the funeral of Cody Allen, the Independence police officer who was killed in a shooting on February 29.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the officer rear-ended another police vehicle when it stopped due to traffic congestion.
Both the Bolivar police officer and the PD volunteer were taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Both were treated and released.
