NWS Confirms Five Tornadoes Touched Down Monday

(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – The National Weather Service(NWS) confirmed that five tornadoes touched down on Monday.

An EF-1 tornado touched down near Fair Grove. The tornado remained on the ground for almost two miles. The peak winds were 95 mph. The tornado caused damage to roofs and outbuildings, and multiple trees were uprooted.

Two more tornadoes hit Laclede County. Both were classified as an EF-0 tornado. The first struck near Morgan around 11 PM, and the second one touched down north of Evergreen.

A fourth tornado hit near St. James. It was classified as an EF-0 tornado.

The fifth tornado was in Dallas County. It touched down near Long Lane just after 11 PM.
