A man from Springfield is off to prison for 45 years after a shooting near Sarcoxie back in 2017 left one man dead and another wounded.
LaFayette Starr avoided a trial by working out a plea deal with prosecutors, requiring him to serve 85% of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
Tayler Anderson from Carthage died in the shooting, but the second victim, Gage Williams, survived.
